Shark Tank India 2: Aman Gupta Impressed By Dr Ashish Rawandale’s Guinness Book Of World Records; Says, ‘Doctor Sahab Aap Mahapurush Ho’
Aman Gupta heaped praises on Dr. Ashish Rawandale for his achievements and Guinness Book Of World Records
Shark Tank India 2 is one of the most watched reality shows on Indian television. The show often makes it to the headlines for the pitchers that come to show the sharks their brands. During last night’s episode, the judges were blown away, when doctors Ashish and Preeti Rawandale bring a portable and disposable uroflowmetry system for detecting urine related disorders.
Explaining about their product and their vision behind it, the couple asks the sharks for Rs. 60 lakhs for 1% equity. While the judges seem skeptical about investing in their business, Ashish talks about his degrees. He goes on to recall how he rejected a robo surgeon at Detroit and returned to Maharastra, Dhule and started his own 20 bed Urologist centre, which by 2015, grew to 110 beds. He also shares that he owns a public limited company worth Rs 125 crore. Listening to the success story, Boat founder Aman Gupta heaps praises on the doctor. As quoted by Times Of India, he tell Ashish, “Dr sahab aap ne itni padhayi ki, patents kare, innovations kare, MD bhi ho, public listed company bhi chala rahe ho, kya kya karte ho kamal ho yaar.”
Ashish’s wife, Preeti goes on to reveal that her husband is a two-times Guinness World Record holder. First for extracting 1,72, 155 stone from one kidney and second for removing a largest kidney. While Aman backs out from the deal, he tell Ashish, “Aap purush he nahi Mahapurush ho Mahapurush ho.” Namita Thapar and Amit Jain seal the deal for Rs 60 lakhs for 6 % equity. For the uninitiated, the show is the Indian franchise of the American show of the same name, where known entrepreneurs listen to different business ideas and decide whether or not they want to invest in those ideas. This season sees Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boat), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com) and Amit Jain (Co-Founder of CarDekho) as the sharks.
